The Happy Life

Now it’s Korean time! I went with my trusty buddy (again!) to another film festival, this time the Korean filmfest at SM North Edsa. We watched the film, The Happy Life, about a group of men, fathers to be exact who had one of their friends die suddenly. This prompted one of them (can’t remember his name hehe) to convince the others to revive their band when they were in high school.

The film was so hilarious. Quite touching too as they each face their family struggles and how hard it was to become the man of the house, the unemployed father so desperate to find some purpose, and the man who was facing divorce while his family was in a far-away country.

What’s even more hilarious was the audience. When Jang Geun-Seok appeared on screen, they literally screamed in delight! Hehehe. I don’t really know him but he must have had some really famous Korean dramas. Kilig na kilig sila ๐Ÿ˜€

Meaning from Random

I find that in each person, no matter how dark their life seems or how often they make the worst decisions, we can discover the goodness of the Lord. We can come to know their finest moment in faith and in life at the most difficult times.

Bali Balance

This time last year, I watched Eat Pray Love in the theaters with two people. Siblings. Then the unexpected, well a little expected event, finally occurred. Something which had my breath all taken away.

One year later, I am watching the movie at my own home. I can’t really remember a lot about the film because I was too bothered by that event.

Who ever thought that one month after this, I will be setting foot in Bali where Liz gained her balance. I am not really aiming for balance, but more on the peace and joy that I have already brewed inside my heart. To retain, maintain and sustain (all the ‘ain’)ย it for as long as I can.

Can’t wait for the adventure.

Make a Moment Day 14

I attended the Ancop initiative of the CFC and Ateneo last Saturday. It was a tutorial provided to students of an elementary school not far from our house. Though I didn’t get to tutor yet, I was glad to just listen and observe. I miss teaching somehow. I miss the kids too. This Saturday, I hope to start tutoring already. Great Saturday morning (though I would really love to wake up way later during the weekends, hehe).

Make a Moment Day 13

Finally, I submitted my application to the scholarship. With hundreds of applicants, what are the odds that I might get it? I hope I have a chance, fingers crossed!

Lesson Learned

I realized that, if you try to breathe in deeply, you can actually learn to get through the pain.

And I’m talking about a tooth.

Wisdom from Pedro Arrupe

I’ll always have this quote as one of my favorites. It’s never ever going to lose its impact in my heart…

โ€œNothing is more practical than finding God, that is, than falling in a love in a quite absolute, final way. What you are in love with, what seizes your imagination will affect everything. It will decide what will get you out of bed in the mornings, what you will do with your evenings, how you spend your weekends, what you read, who you know, what breaks your heart, and what amazes you with joy and gratitude. Fall in love, stay in love, and it will decide everything.โ€
